Lush pamper routine

I love having a long relaxing bath using a Lush bath bomb or bubble bar but I never really tried any other Lush products. So I put in a rather large order, you can read my recent lush haul Here, and ordered a few new things.

My pamper routine |

step 1 | Run a hot bath and put in your favourite bath bomb, I choose Guardian of the forest and watch the magic happen. Set up all of your favourite products to use in the bath, light a couple of candles and set up something to watch or listen to. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

Step 2 | Dry of and use a body lotion all over to make you feel silky smooth and put on your comfiest pj's. A face mask is a must on a pamper night , I used Rosy cheeks, it's a lovely pale pink colour, smells like roses and leaves your skin feeling so fresh and clean.

Step 3 | Whilst wearing your face mask why not go all out and wear a foot and hand mask too! These are both products that I hadn't tried before but are now firm favourites. For my feet I used Volcano, you may feel a bit silly with this on but the benefits are worthit, and what's a pamper night without looking a little silly? You smear the mask all over your feet and wrap them with a plastic bag or cling film. Now onto the hand mask, I've been obsessed with using hand cream these winter months so I couldn't wait to use a hand mask to help them feel extra smooth.  Using the Golden handshake hot hand mask place it upright in a cup or bowl of hot water, then stir it around to to create a thick mixture. Place all over your hands and let it work its magic.

Step 4 | Leave them all on for 15-20 minutes while you relax, you do look pretty sill sat there with things on your hands, feet and face but they will all thank you for it afterwards. Wash it all of and pat your skin dry with a clean, soft towel.

Step 5 | All this cold weather leaves my lips feeling very dry and chapped, a lip scrub is perfect for making them soft again and is the best prep for your lipstick. I used the Bubble gum lips scrub, I just rub it all over my lips, then lick it of when I've finished (yes it's edible!) and it tastes delicious.

And that's the end of the of my Lush pamper routine, I will usually chill on the sofa with a cheesy film on and paint my nails. I love the Barry m speed dry colours, I applied Slip stream a deep purple shade.

What do you use in your pamper routine? Do you use any of the lush products?

Lush haul

Bath bombs |

With its gorgeous bold colour, and citrus cinnamon smell why wouldn't you want to add this to your bath. Filled with popping candy this bath bomb fizzes and pops and smells divine.
Lush says | "A Catherine wheel of a bath bomb. It changes colour as it fizzes, crackling with popping candy as it goes and releasing first a citrussy apple and then a cinnamon, apple pie like scent with a hint of ylang ylang. Petitgrain is used in aromatherapy to calm the breathing, slow the heartbeat and reduce feelings of anxiety. Ylang ylang produces a feeling of joy, and cinnamon leaf oil helps you let go."

The name says it all, this bath bomb smells like roses and is patterned with little roses all around it. It is filled with petals that float out when dropped in the water.
Lush says | "Love is blind, which is a shame because this bombshell with a floral triplet of yellow rose petals, rose absolute and rose oil is an enthralling spectacle. As it fizzes, the outer shell breaks away and magnificent petals burst out in a sweet haze of Sicilian lemon and floral geranium oils."

The unusual shape and beautiful blue bird drew me to this one. Lush also donate money from the profits of this bath bomb to charity.
Lush says | "Profits from each and every one of these soft floral and liquorice-scented bath bombs will help fund equipment to satellite tag many endangered hen harrier chicks born in the coming years. With bergamot, Sicilian lemon and cinnamon leaf oils, this bath bomb will take you under its wing and fight wildlife crime in one clean sweep."

Sakura |
A white ball with a burst of sweet smelling colour in the centre, a perfect start to spring.
Lush says | "A celebration of spring, bursting into a floral fragrance. Inspired by the cherry blossom in Japan, this pretty bomb is designed to evoke the burst of optimism the first sign of spring brings. Calming mimosa and jasmine oils are complemented by lemon oil and orange flower to bring to mind the smell of this colourful season."

A deep purple bath bomb with a blackberry sent that will relax you from all stress and anxiety.
Lush says | "As soon as you drop this into your bath, tension is banished as the bergamot and frankincense oils are released. Bergamot is used in aromatherapy for anxiety, depression and nervous tension, and is both relaxing and uplifting as well as antibacterial. You’ll soon feel calmed as frankincense oil helps slow down breathing and induces a feeling of wellbeing."

Now this one is ment for babies and young children, but it's too cute to resist. If it's good enough for a baby it's good enough for me!
Lush says | "A gentle lavender bath bomb to relax children before bedtime. This is a bath bomb designed to look after young children’s delicate skin, and is so gentle it’s suitable for babies over six months. Its aromatherapy oils also work to soothe irritable cherubs before bedtime. Lavender is a calming aromatherapy oil, used in traditional medicine to treat skin irritations, sunburn and insect bites."

Bubble bars |

Lady bird |
A beautiful ladybird shaped bubble bar that smells lovely. I can't wait to crumble this under my water.
Lush says | "This friendly little ladybird wants to take you under its wing and run you a hot floral bath, filled with sweet geranium oil to aid relaxation. A little peppermint oil gives a menthol hint to this flowery mix, helping to revive and uplift mind and body as you soak. Go all out for mountains of cheery bubbles or save a little for next time."

A gorgeous mix of colours, spice scents and a great name, what more could you won't?
lush says | "This ginger, pepper and lemon-scented bubble bar turns your water psychedelic and puts some colour in your life. Simply crumble underneath the running tap to create grounding, spicy bubbles.  Its spicy, citrusy scent will pep you up: lemon oil boosts the mood, while ginger and pepper are warming."

How cute are these bubbleroons, they almost look good enough to eat, and smell good enough to eat too.
Lush says | "Pep up your spirits in a bath filled with Rose Jam: lemon, rose and geranium oil will help perk you up, while Fair Trade cocoa and shea butter leave you feeling gorgeous. You’ll end up feeling as cheered as though you'd been been given a bunch of flowers. Rose oil and rose absolute give a double dose of rosiness, helping to clear the mind and boost your mood."

Now this is my cup of tea and one you can bath in!
Lush says | "If fragrant, petal-filled baths are your cup of tea, look no further! Hold this reusable bubble bar under running water to release the beneficial blend. Clamber in to stew in a hot, floral brew with uplifting neroli and rosewood oils and allow your mind to drift. Turn your bath into a giant tea cup as you float amongst the exotic blue cornflowers, sunny orange flower absolute and rich rosewood, helping you tap into that inner calm."

What's your favourite bubble bar and bath bomb?

Gold eye, pink lip

BASE |

CHEEKS |

I received this Eye shadow stick in February's Birch box, (you can read what else I got in this Post). It is a gorgeous, shimmery gold shade, it doesn't look tacky as it is a light coverage but is easily build able for a stand out look. It is so easy and simple to you use, you glide it over you eyelid and blend it in using your finger, adding more if you won't to. This is the first time I've used an eye shadow stick, and I was impressed, they are so easy to use and looks very pretty.

LIPS |

Lipstick | Mac Pink Plaid

The lipstick is a gorgeous base colour of the luxury soft Lipgloss creating a lovely pink lip, perfect for the up coming spring months.

I love this gold eye, pink lip look. You can tone it down for the day time and create a bolder look for the evening, perfect for a date night or girls night out.

Birch box | February

February is all about shinning like a diamond, Birch box have launched their new beauty line, love of Color (LOC) which features in this months box. We had the pleasure of choosing from two beautiful coloured one and done shadow stick. The colours were the champagne problems, a shimmering silver shade and the perfect cents, a shining gold shade. Both are beautiful but I went for perfect cents as I love a smokey eye look and this will add that perfect gold shimmer to my smokey eye look.

As well as the full sized LOC product Birch box treated us to a pretty mermaid coloured full size makeup brush, perfect for applying powder. Just having this out on your makeup desk will brighten it up and the soft bristles will feel lovely in the skin.

The balm cosmetics, frat boy blush/shadow | £15.50
WHAT | The secret to a youthful completion? A rosy glow! Fake that radiant flush with this pretty suits all completion blush.
HOW | Swoosh a fluffy brush all over the blush, being sure that all bristles pick up some powder, and then apply to that apples of your cheeks or sweep over eyelids - it might be small but prepare to be surprised by the super concentrated pigments!

BEAUTY BONUS

Derm eyes, makeup remover wipes | £9.50
WHAT | Eliminate all traces of makeup, gently, with these hypoallergenic cleansing wipes. Perfect
for sensitive peepers, they've been created with a super soft fabric to cleanse and hydrated the eye area without irritation.
HOW | Just wipe over the eye area until makeup is removed - simple!

I love the makeup brush, LOC shadow stick and the hand and body lotion. However the other products weren't that great for me, I feel like the collagen booster would be great for older ladies as it smooths out lines but I don't have any lines to smooth out. The blush is a lovely colour but the sample  is so small it is hard to get a good amount on a brush to properly sample. I'm sure lots of you would love the makeup wipes, but I just don't use them I don't feel like they do enough for me, I like to use the Liz earl cleanse and polish to remove my makeup but I will keep for when I travel somewhere as it is very handy.

All in all I still really liked this months box as I feel the two full sized products make up for the other products.

Do you get a monthly birch box? If so what did you get and what did you think to the products?

Nude lip

Now that Christmas has gone so has the red lipstick, I love wearing a nude lip to go with my simple day to day makeup. I use my MAC velvet teddy far to much so I wanted to find a new nude lipstick which was a little more pink toned. My mum actually bought this lipstick first but I loved at as soon as I saw it. It is the Maybelline Color sensational lipstick in Rosewood pearl, if you are a pretty little liars fan like me, you will love it just for is name. But if the name isn't enough it's smooth texture and colour are also amazing. It is so soft on the lips and leaves a creamy texture making it so comfortable to wear. It is a lovely pink nude colour making it perfect to wear with any makeup look.

I have been trying to use lip liner more as it is something I don't always bother with so I picked up the Maybelline Color sensational lip liner in 630 velvet beige. It is a little darker than the lipstick making it the perfect lipstick companion. I sculpt my lips using this liner starting from the he centre of my upper lip to the outer edges of my mouth then follow onto my bottom lip, filling the rest in with the rosewood pearl lipstick. If I won't to create a more intense darker nude lip for an evening I will completely fill in my lips with the lip liner then add a little lipstick over the top. Combined together they create a beautiful nude lip that will last throughout the day only needing to top up a little.

Do you have any of the Maybelline lipsticks? What are your favourite nude shades?

Jadu tea

Now that the January blues are over, it's time to kick start the detoxing, healthy eating/drinking and exercise. Although I'm a massive chocolate and coffee lover I do love how I feel when I cut down on it, I have so much more energy and feel fresher. For my diet I have been sort of following the slimming world diet and just added so much more fruit and veg to my diet. Green tea is a great alternative to coffee, you can still have a hot drink but it helps to flush all of the rubbish from your body.

Jadu tea kindly sent me some of their Green tea to try, it is delicious and has helped my body and skin feel so much healthier. They describe the tea as 'An exquisitely smooth, full-bodied green tea from the Yunnan province of China, one of the oldest tea growing regions in the world. These carefully rolled leaves are reputedly full of antioxidants.' They are so smooth to drink as some green teas that I have tried in the past can have quite a harsh taste that make you not won't to drink any more.

How to serve | Allow one tea pyramid per person, heat freshly drawn water to about 80oC, infuse for 3 minutes and drink with out milk.

Although this tea is a little more pricey than other teas, it is worth it as you are more likely to continue drinking it if you enjoy the taste. They would also make a lovely gift for someone, don't forget Mother's Day is on March the 6th.

Do you drink any green tea or any fruit teas? Let me know if you have or at going to try some Jadu tea, they do so much more than just green tea.

Nude nails

I love the original colours in the Barry M speed dry range, they are the perfect Spring/summer pastel colours. They have now added four new colours to the range, In a flashPersonal bestWinning streak and Freestyle. They have continued with the pale pastel shades and have gone for more nude shades this time. I picked up two of the four shades, Freestyle and Winning streak.

Winning streak is a pale nude shade, perfect for a simple touch to your nails. You can build the colour  up by adding more layers, it's sounds time consuming but not with these colours they dry so fast you can add another coat as soon as you've finished the last! Perfect for those who don't like spending loads of time doing there nails.

Freestyle is a gorgeous pale pastel pink shade. I'm a sucker for pink, I'm sure most of us are, but in Pastel form I just can not resist. This will be perfect for when the sun starts to show, but not having any sun isn't going to stop me wearing this beautiful shade now.

I will be adding the other two shades to my collection and you can get them for £3.99 each but they are currently on buy 1 get 1 half price at Superdrug at the moment. With its flat brush the nail colours are so easy to apply with out getting it all over the fingers (I'm terrible at this). With a couple of coats you get a gorgeous colour and its dry in seconds, so you can quickly do your nails before rushing out the door.

Do you have any of the Barry M speed dry colours? What do you think to the new shades?
