I made it through Blogmas! Now it's time to embrace Christmas, relax, eat food and be merry. Tonight I'm haveinh friends and family over for food, drinks and games. Then an early night ready for Santa coming!

Blogmas day 23 | Terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate

I love Terry's chocolate oranges, especially the centre, what better way to enjoy even more of it than in a hot chocolate!

You will need |

Large oranges
Terry's chocolate orange

Method |

1) The large oranges are going to act as our mugs for our drinks. Slice the top of the orange of and put to one side. Scoop out the inside of the orange and put to one side.
2) For the hot chocolate, measure out the amount of milk you need using your cup. E.g. If you only wont to make one cup of hot chocolate, fill your cup up with milk and pour it in, if you want two cups fill you cup up twice.
3) Heat up the milk on a medium heat, stirring continually, don't let the milk boil as this will burn it.
4) Add in your chocolate, add the amount you would like, do some taste tests to see if you would like to add more.
5) keep stirring until the chocolate has melted.
6) Pour it into your orange.
7) Cut a hole at the top of your lid to fit your straw in and place on top of your orange.

Blogmas day 22 | gingerbread biscuits

Blogmas day 19 | Christmas makeup

Christmas makeup has to consist of a red lip, I teamed this with a subtle smokey eye and a classic cat eye flick.

For the base I used my everyday staples, 24 hour Revlon colour stay foundation, rimmel stay Matt powder, maybelline master sculpt and MAC strobe.

For my subtle smokey eye I used the revolution redemption palette essential mattes 2. I used the lightest shade all over my lid and inner corner, the light pink shade on my lid and light purple shade in my crease, outer eye and a little on my bottom lash line. To create that perfect cat eye flick I used eyeko, fat liquid eyeliner in black, it so easy to use as it's just like a pen. For my lashes I used benefits there real!

To finish of this look I used model co lipstick in smitten, it gives the perfect festive red lip.

Blogmas day 18 | Christmas nails

As much as I like getting creative and doing my own nails there's nothing better than a salon set. I can't have my nails done for work so when I finished today myself and my friend headed straight for the salon to get a festive set.

Blogmas day 17 | cake pops

I haven't quit mastered the art of these yet but I did a little better than last year. I'm fine all the way up until the decorating I just manage to make a huge mess all the time. Nevertheless the finish product still looked good (after tidying them up a little) and most importantly they taste good.

You will need |

  • Pre made cake mix and the extras it requires
  • Chocolate candy melts
  • Sprinkles of your choice
  • 80g of butter
  • 200g of icing sugar
  • Cake pop sticks
  • Cake pop stand
Method |
  1. Make sure cake mixture as instructed on the packed and bake for the time specified
  2. Whilst is cooking make up your butter cream frosting by creaming the butter and icing sugar together. Leave the frosting in the fridge for at least half an hour.
  3. Once cooked Leave the cake to cool COMPLETELY on a wire rack.
  4. Cut of the outside crispy bits of the cake as those don't taste to great in cake pops.
  5. In a large bowl crumple your cake mixture into very fine bread crumbs.
  6. Add the frosting a little at a time until the mixture is moist and forms a firm hard ball (you may not need all the frosting).
  7. Pop it in the fridge and leave for an hour.
  8. Take the ball and take little bits at time to create equal sized balls by rolling them in your hand, ensure they are packed tight and firm.
  9. Melt your chocolate candy melts and dip one end of your cake pop stick into the candy melts. Place that end into a cake pop ball but not all the way through. Do this with them all and leave them for a couple of minutes to harden.
  10. Now for the messy part. Twirl your cake pop into the candy melts then dip into your sprinkle or sprinkle them on top. Place in your cake pop holder to dry.
  11. And your finished! They will be perfect to serve at Christmas get togethers or your could wrap them it little cellophane bags and give them as presents.
Have you ever made cake pops? Do you find the decorating mark extremely messy or is it just me?

Blogmas day 14 | winter wonderland

I went to London's winter wonderland a few years back, it was so Christmassy and festive I couldn't wait to go back. I took a one night trip with my family and socked up all the Christmas festivities. There were beautiful stalls sparkling in lights, Christmas treats and drinks, outdoor ice skating, Christmas songs and so much Christmas cheer. All the lights were beautiful, walking in the winter breeze down the London streets, covered in twinkling lights just felt so magical. It was so pretty I wish my street looked like that every time I step out the door.

I ate more food than my stomach could handle, tried mulled wine, saw so many Santa's roller skating in the street, looked at more twinkling lights than I could ever count but most importantly I spend a lovely weekend with my family.

What did you get up to at the weekend. Have you been to winter wonderland or any where Christmassy?

Blogmas day 10 | Christmas songs

For me Christmas songs are played from November through to the new year, they always get me singing along and into the Christmas spirit. It's the only time of year that everyone is listening to the old classics. I thought I would share my top 3 songs that really get me in the spirit.

  1. All I want for Christmas is you | Mariah Carey
  2. Last Christmas | Wham!
  3. Merry Christmas everybody | Slade
What are your favourite Christmas songs?

Blogmas day 9 | mens stocking fillers

In my previous post I shared a couple of stocking fillers for girls from the boots 3 for 2 range so I thought I would share a couple for men. I always struggle to buy for men and these are the perfect gifts for friends family or even a secret Santa gift.

I picked up the Nivea men's wash kit and the Ted baker red bridge duo. These are both great gifts that I think most men would be happy to receive.

Nivea men's wash kit | £12.50

This product contains a 250ml bottle of Nivea men active shower gel, 150ml bottle of Nivea men silver protect deodorant, Nivea men cream moisturiser and a grey wash back. This is a perfect gift for any man as they can use all the products in the bathroom but it would also be great for someone who goes to the gym or travels a lot as it comes with a travel bag.

Ted baker red bridge duo | £8.50

This lovely duo set contains 200ml of hair and body wash and 150ml antiperspirant deodorant. It is a classic smell that will suit pretty much any man so you can't really go wrong with this gift.

You can the pick up another product in the 3 for 2 mix and match selection for free (cheapest product free). I decided to get myself a treat this time but of course you can pick up whatever you like for whoever you like.

Do you find it difficult to buy for men?

Blogmas day 8 | stocking fillers for girls

Boots always have great offers on at Christmas time especially the 3 for 2 offers. They have some lovely gift sets that I'm sure anyone would love to receive, I know I would, they also have some cute little stocking fillers. They have loads of great brands like, soap and glory, jack wills and no 7 but my favourite are the Ted baker stocking fillers.

I picked up the Ted baker sparkle and shine duo and Ted baker mini pink treasure.

Ted baker sparkle and shine duo | £8

The duo includes a lip and cheek tint and a nail polish in gorgeous golden tones. It comes in a little box with a clear front so you can see the product with ribbon at the top so you can either place it in a stocking or hang it on the tree.

Ted baker mini pink treasure | £4

The gorgeously packed gift is a diamond shapped box containing a sweet smelling body soufflé. It also has a ribbon at the top so you can hang it on the tree which I think would look so cute as you still have to open it to know what is inside so you can still keep it as a gift for Christmas Day.

Of course if you buy two products with the 3 for 2 offer (which these are) you get a third product free (the cheapest product). The 3 for 2 offer can be mixed and matched across all products with the deal making it easy to buy gifts for all the family and maybe even a little gift for yourself.

Will you be getting any stocking fillers or tree presents for anyone? Let me know what products are your favourite.
