Blogmas day 22 | gingerbread biscuits

Tis' the season to get creative in the kitchen. Home made biscuits still warm from the oven, that make that little crush when you take the first bite, are one of my favourite things in this season. I made some delicious gingerbread biscuits based on This Aldi recipe.

You will need |

  • 125g unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 125g brown sore sugar
  • 375g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 60ml golden syrup
  • Christmas cutter
  • Icing to decorate

Method | 

1) pre heat the oven to 180 degrees.
2) place the butter and sugar in a bowl and mixed together until you have a soft mixture.
3) add the egg yolk and golden syrup to your mixture and mix in well.
4) add into your mixture, flour, baking powder, ginger and cinnamon and mix in well 
5) roll out your dough and cut out shapes using your selected cutter.
6) place on a greased baking tray for 8-10 minutes.
7) once cooked leave to cool then decorate.
